It took a record 224 days for the individual American taxpayer to meet his or her share of the cost of government in 2009, a taxpayer watchdog group has calculated. (AP Photo)
Washington (CNSNews.com) – Americans had to work from January 1 until August 12 this year just to cover the cost of government. That is 26 days more than they had to work last year to cover the cost of government.

“Cost of Government Day” this year fell on Wednesday, August 12, according to Americans for Tax Reform, the conservative group that calculates when the day occurs. Cost of Government Day is the day in the year when the American people have earned enough income to pay the total cost of the spending and regulatory burden imposed by government at the federal, state, and local level.

She is combative and interrupts him repeatedly. She then proceeds to walk away before he can even respond to her comment. She completely fails to even give the illusion of a fair report, and her combative and interrupting comments makes me think that she wasn’t really even paying attention to the guy. She heard the name Lincoln and starting talking about how the land of Lincoln is getting a bunch of bailout money, completely oblivious to the fact that the point of this whole gathering is to protest the bailouts. She then goes on to say that this protest is highly anti-CNN since it is highly promoted by Fox News. I’m not sure what was going on in here min, but I was at that protest, and I didn’t see one sign talking about CNN. Good thing then next woman took her to task for her very subjective interview and reporting methods.

My old congresswoman Rep. Jan Schakowsky called the protests despicable” and a “shameful political stunt.” Apparently we were all part of a conspiracy and acting on secret orders from businesses, lobbyists and Fox News. Funny, the post office must have misplaced my “Secret Orders.” I’m sorry, but I thought the theft of my wealth through the devaluation of the dollar – which she supports – was much more shameful and despicable.

At least she didn’t go as far as Janeane Garofalo, who called everybody at these protests racists, who are only out there because they cannot stand a black president, and of course they have something wrong with the Limbic System in their brain. She then goes on to say that any non-white people at the protests have Stockholm Syndrome (Stockholm Syndrome being the psychological response where a hostage starts to feel loyalty to the hostage tacker), and that there is a surprising number of people with Stockholm Syndrome.

It is interesting. For the first time in a long time the liberty leaning people of this country have come out in force, and the socialist’s sole reply is name calling. It is very interesting.

I have not seen one as big since the anti-war protest in 2005. It was far more peaceful too. In that protest, the city, county, and state police filled the whole street in full riot gear, with a line of police on horses in front. Still idiots tried to break the police line. The problem back then is that along with the peaceful liberty loving anti-war protesters there were violent socialists and anarcho-communists groups. Ironic.

Anyway, I digress. Unfortunately, they did not have a stage for the speaker so I could not see the speaker at all, and it was hard to hear what they were saying. In addition, due to the large number of people, I could not easily get to an area where I could see them. There were a lot of libertarian type people. I found some Campaign for Liberty members and a Libertarian party guy. There were also unfortunately some republicans lurking around, forgetting the big government message Bush was all about, but that was to be expected.

All in all it was a success. Unfortunately, I did not bring a proper camera, but I did manage to get some with my mobile. I will post them soon.

Groups ranging from the libertarian Young American’s for Liberty, to the National Taxpayers Union, to the right wing socialist Young Republicans will be there protesting your money being wasted on stupid government programs. The one in Chicago will be at the Daley Plaza. Although, one of the first e-mail’s I received about this said it was at federal plaza, but I will go and see, they aren’t that far away. Go to the Tax Day Coalition Website to find your local tax day protest.

I have a question to ask. Is he living in reality? Pat Quinn (the governor) must have been on Mars in a cave with his eyes shut and his fingers in his ears, because he certainly hasn’t been on earth. If he had been on earth he would have realized that the recession has also affected the people in the State of Illinois. Does he have absolutely no concept of economics whatsoever? Can he not even bring up the idea of cutting one of the fattest state budgets in the country? Does he not have one care whatsoever for anybody? Or is he just too dense to realize the harm this tax increase will do to people in this state? The federal income taxes are already oppressive. The county I live in, between local county and state, has the highest sales tax in the country. I usually hate ad hominem arguments, but Pat Quinn is stupid stupid stupid (or very very evil). I’m too mad to say anything else.

Whether it is taken directly out of your pay check or whether it is through the taxes and regulation compliance that drive the prices up for the goods and services you buy. It is being wasted. Just think of it. If you had that money back that was taken from your pay check, if everything cost that much less, how much better would your life be? If you didn’t have to struggle anymore to make ends meet? If companies could actually afford to bring thousands of manufacturing jobs back to the US, how many more of your friends could have jobs? You could afford all of those things you think are merely pipe dreams now. What an amazing world it would be?

Anyway, the point of this post is to point you to a most interesting website Take Your Money Back. Look around the site, watch the video, request the longer video, and most importantly, take the Abolishment form and send it to your congressman. No pussyfooting around with this, it tells your congressman in no uncertain terms that they need to introduce or support legislation to end all federal income taxes, and that if they do not they will at the very least not get your vote. Of course if they send you some dumb reply, sent it to the Take Your Money Back Website and they will make it a matter of public record.
