Government's Folly

Norman Borlaug, arguably the greatest human being that ever lived, died last Saturday at the age of 95. Norman went around the world, first to Mexico, then India, then Africa, and developed new high yield, disease resistant, strains of wheat and rice and new growing methods. When he won the Nobel Piece Prize in 1970, it was said he saved the lives of over a billion people. You read that right, that was not a typo, he saved the lives of over a billion people in Latin America, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. Penn and Teller called him the Greatest Human Being that ever lived, and I have to agree. No other person has even come close to saving that many people’s lives, and his new strains, research, methods and programs for continued research will save countless more in the coming generations. Thank you Norman, you are truly a hero.
